Food Not Bombs-Niagara
Food Not Bombs - Niagara Region! Challenges violence and food waste through the free sharing of healthy and delicious food throughout the Niagara Region. We work together to recycle and redistribute food. The food is vegan so that everyone can eat, no matter what religious belief or diet. The food is prepared by volunteers, using second-rate food that would normally just be thrown away because of minor cosmetic flaws. We work in solidarity with community organizations to provide food on a weekly basis as well as at special events. We are always open to cooking for social justice events! Please let us know by contacting us through our email. Why Volunteer With Food Not Bombs? What we’re up to now: Every Monday: Free weekly lunches at the RAFT. Drop ins are welcome! Free vegan treats at Brock Univeristy, Thistle corridor, near the eye. Food Not Bombs at Seedy Saturdays 2009!February 14th , Pond Inlet, Brock Unversity. We are working with the DIY Collective who have helped to bring this event to Brock to present an amazing and informative sprouting workshop! The jar-sprouting workshop will run throughout the day but there will also be a workshop on travel-bag sprouting at 2-2.30pm. Come check it out and leave with your own hand-made sprouting bag! Food Not Bombs Volunteer Meetings: Next meeting: January 19th. If you have more food than you can eat before it goes bad, please contact us. We will pick it up from you on a weekly basis, and we will cook it at someone's house and share it at our servings. We will pick up food from anywhere in the Niagara region (for free).
