Advancing Sustianability at Brock

Brock CSAFAfter 7 months of work, OPIRG Community Networking and Programming Coordinator, Milica Njegovan in partnership with professors Ritchard Mitchell and June Corman, as well as research assistants, masters’ student Avery Kennedy and Brock Grad Sinem Arslan and Melissa Dol have completed the exploratory phase of the Campus Sustainability Assessment Framework (CSAF).

The CSAF is a project that seeks to conduct research on dozens of social, environmental, and economic indicators to ascertain how sustainable of a campus is Brock University. Examples of indicators could include water, greenhouse gas emissions, land use, governance health, and ethical purchasing. This project has been started at eight universities across Ontario, and has already been completed twice at Concordia University.

The administration and faculty have been of vital help to this project and we hope they continue to work with us in improving our community here at Brock University.
